Yesterday was a BIG day in my Full Sail Journey! I started my first “Major” Class, 3D Foundations. Let me tell you, this is going to be AWESOME! We got a $7,000.00 program called Maya to work with and it is so much fun. We are of course learning the basics and this is the industry standard for what I will be working on. Every Movie, Video Game, Commercial, TV Show that you have seen in the past 10 years has probably had some Maya in it. I am really loving learning all these new software programs. They can be very intimidating when you first open them and see a thousand buttons, thankfully the Full Sail staff does a great job walking us through it. We will be making a 6 second video, made from scratch, of a character doing some sort of action and build it all in Maya. The whole month-long class builds on itself all coming to a head with our final project. I can not wait to shine on this one and I will be pushing to have the best looking project.

Here is our first project, just to help us familiarize ourself with the program. It was very fun! We had to construct Frosty the Snow Man like a jigsaw puzzle to teach us how to navigate in Maya. All the pieces were scattered all over and different sizes. We had to locate each piece and place them in the proper spot and resize pieces that were needed.
